North Van Outdoors

There are very limited outdoor opportunities in North Vancouver!!! We’re kidding…just kidding. The opportunities are endless. Hike, Bike, Trike it’s all in North Vancouver. The wilderness is your backyard if you move to North Vancouver. We’ll only scratch the surface of ideas for you. Once you start you’ll find that you’ll never want to stop. If you like to hike uphill and not downhill, then you’ve got two world class choices in close proximity. The Grouse Grind trail is steep and rewarding. Go straight up for an hour or so and then you can relax at the chalet before your trip back down on the gondola. No need to rush down as there are ample activities at the top of the mountain. Restaurants, zip lining, more hiking, take a peek at the bears and by the time of this writing they’ve probably added more things to do at the top of Grouse. The other up but not down hike is located a short drive up the sea to sky highway just before Squamish. It’s named the Sea to Sky Gondola. Hike from the bottom of if you’re not in the mood then jump on the Gondola for spectacular scenery at the top of the rock called the chief. But what if it’s winter? In the case of Grouse Mountain then strap on your skis or snowboard and go riding. For the Sea to Sky Gondola there should be a spot for a little tobogganing at the top. The north shore also has riding and skiing at Cypress Mountain and Seymour. But what if there isn’t any snow? Then drive up to either and start hiking. You start nice and high and you can just get higher! So these things will get you started on the North Shore. Consider also going to Capilano Suspension bridge or if you want a smaller one then head east to Lynn Canyon where you’ll find a suspension bridge there as well.
